Distance: 64 miles
Elevation: +2606 / -2449
Temperature: 62 degrees
Current Situation:

“Hot Week“ has officially ended! With that said, we all looked forward to a cooler ride today, and rolled out of Colfax at 7:30 to make our way to Harrison, ID on the shore of the Coeur d’Alene Lake.
The first ten miles were beautiful, but took us down a rather challenging series of gravel/sand/dirt roads. After that, we followed the road to Tekoa, some of the most beautiful countryside I’ve ever seen.

After a chilly lunch in Tekoa, we headed up and up to cross over into Idaho, where there were no more wheat fields to be seen, but plenty of evergreens and lumber processing.

In Plummer, ID we picked up the Coeur d’Alene (cor da layn) trail, which was designed for cyclists, and it was a gorgeous ride along, and across, the lake.

The end of the day found us in Harrison, at a charming lodge with all of our rooms overlooking the lake!
Highlights:
1. Young wheat and grasses blowing in the wind for miles.
2. A tail wind for just about the entire ride!
3. The views of the countryside as we headed to Tekoa
4. The Coeur d’Alene trail - all of it!
5. The cows still noticing us.
6. Ice cream and sorbet at the creamery (and gluten free cones)!

Lowlights:
1 Climbing gravel hills.
